چکیده
Abstract The paper focuses on the nexus between climate change and armed conflicts with an empirical analysis based a panel of 2653 georeferenced cells for African continent 1990 2016. Our econometric approach addresses unobservable heterogeneity in predicting probability violent events persistency conflicting behaviour over time. proposed strategy also accounts both changes climatic conditions spatial dynamics. two main findings carry policy-relevant implications. First, influence large ranges, thus suggesting that design adaptation policies to reduce vulnerability should account multiple interrelations. Second, violence calls planning strategies resilience jointly designed measures support peacekeeping.

Climate ChanGe and aeroallerGens in south afriCa
Climate change and its effects on aeroallergens and allergic disease have been extensively studied in the northern hemisphere, but there has been a dearth of similar studies in the southern hemisphere. Aeroallergens are extremely sensitive to certain weather parameters and changes may increase or decrease their levels in the atmosphere. Climate change projections include global warming, an incr...
متن کاملClimate change and animal health in Africa.
Climate change is expected to have direct and indirect impacts on African livestock. Direct impacts include increased ambient temperature, floods and droughts. Indirect impacts are the result of reduced availability of water and forage and changes in the environment that promote the spread of contagious diseases through increased contact between animals, or increased survival or availability of...
متن کاملSeed bank persistence and climate change
The strong mechanistic relationship between climatic factors and seed dormancy and germination suggests that forecast climatic changes will significantly affect seed bank persistence. This review focuses on the potential impact of changing temperature, rainfall and fire regimes on the longevity of long-term persistent seed-banks. Currently, there are few studies investigating the mechanistic re...
